How to Get Your Florida Public Adjuster License with 2021 Training

The Florida Public Adjuster License (3-20) takes time and dedication to obtain, but with the right guidance, the process is straightforward. At 2021 Training, we help aspiring insurance professionals gain the knowledge, skills, and credentials needed to succeed in the insurance claims industry.

If you’re ready to represent policyholders in claims disputes and build a rewarding career, we can guide you step by step toward earning your Florida 3-20 Public Adjuster License, starting with the essential 6-20 All-Lines Adjuster License.

Why Become a Florida Public Adjuster?

Public adjusters play a vital role in the insurance claims process. Unlike company adjusters who work for insurance carriers, public adjusters advocate for policyholders, ensuring they receive fair settlements on property damage and other claims. In Florida, where storms, hurricanes, and natural disasters often lead to complex claims, qualified public adjusters are in high demand.

With a Florida Public Adjuster License, you can:

  • Represent policyholders directly in insurance claims.

  • Provide expertise in evaluating damage and negotiating settlements.

  • Build a rewarding career helping others during times of loss.

  • Earn higher income potential as you move from staff or independent adjusting into public adjusting.

Steps to Getting Your Florida Public Adjuster License

At 2021 Training, we make the licensing process clear and simple:

Step 1 – Obtain Your 6-20 All-Lines Adjuster License

The 6-20 license is the foundation for anyone pursuing a career as a public adjuster in Florida. It qualifies you to work as an independent or staff adjuster and is required before you can move on to public adjusting.

  • Our Florida 6-20 / 70-20 Licensing Course meets all requirements from the Florida Department of Financial Services.

  • You can bypass the state exam by completing our state-approved course online.

  • This license allows you to begin working insurance claims immediately, while preparing for the public adjuster path.

Step 2 – Complete the Public Adjuster Apprenticeship

After securing your 6-20 license, the next step is becoming a Public Adjuster Apprentice for six months.

  • During this time, you’ll gain hands-on experience with real claims under the supervision of licensed public adjusters.

  • Florida requires a $50,000 surety bond during this apprenticeship to ensure financial accountability.

  • This stage allows you to build practical skills that make you more effective when representing clients in claims negotiations.

Step 3 – Pass the 3-20 Public Adjuster Exam

Once your apprenticeship is complete, you’re eligible to take the 3-20 Florida Public Adjuster Exam through PearsonVue.

  • Upon passing the exam and fulfilling bonding requirements, you can officially apply for your 3-20 Florida Public Adjuster License.

  • With this license, you’ll be fully authorized to represent policyholders and handle insurance claims as a licensed public adjuster.

2021 is a great resource for adjusting beyond the courses/education. The courses are very instructional and easy to follow. The straight forward instruction makes content easy to learn and retain. Cherie and the staff will talk to know you and learn your particular needs. They will then direct you in the best way to move forward with your education. They are also quick to respond and assist you in any way until course completion and assist you in the licensing process. You will be served well by 2021 for all your educational and licensing needs.

This is the best training I have done. The trainer on each class is very clear and has a lot of patience explaining everything. I am bilingual and I mostly think in Spanish and I passed my test. I took three courses with 2021 training over the past 3 yrs to get my CE hours and I was very pleased with how well everything was easy to use and how Dave the instructor was very detailed in explaining how to use Xactimate and its resources. I would definitely recommend this training to anyone looking into becoming an IA. I have already shared this training with friends and colleagues and they have joined the training. On another note: I have contacted Mrs. Cherie Kaltenbach a few times to help answer and help me navigate thru some clarifications and she was very quick to respond and help thru my next steps. Again, Very great classes and training to take!!!

All classes are well thought out, planned and well executed. This made me complete the entire course within 4 weeks and excersized the trial test for about 5 times, though it has unlimited tries. And Final exam passed in one try only. I thank, most appreciatingly, the entire team of 2021Taining for putting together such a vast and learning center with after completion services. Thank you 2021Training.

What a GREAT experience!! I needed an online course that would help me earn my Texas' Adjuster's License. This course prepared me for the exam, walked me through the entire testing procedure, helped me complete the process on my first try! I also took other courses offered by 2021 Training. All were equally comprehensive, informative and helpful if you are wanting to start an independent adjusting career. Dave and Cherie are both skilled at running their training center. Do Not Hesitate to give 2021 Training a chance. They will exceed your expectations!!
