Texas Smart Start Package
$408.00
Licensed and Deployable for $408
Three courses. One price. Save $99 over buying them individually. This is the package Dave recommends for anyone making insurance adjusting a career — not just getting the license, but being ready to work your first claim with actual confidence.
Three courses, one estimate
- Texas All-Lines Pre-Licensing ($179 value) — 40 hours of state-required coursework. Texas insurance law, policy structure, claims handling, ethics. State-approved exam included. This gets you the license.
- Xactimate Training ($279 value) — Taught by Dave, a Level 3 Xactimate Certified instructor. Every carrier uses Xactimate. Takes you from never having opened the software to confidently writing damage estimates. Earns up to 15 CE credits and prepares you for Level 1 and Level 2 certification exams.
- Practical Adjusting ($149 value) — The course between your license and your first deployment. How to inspect a roof, document damage properly, talk to a homeowner who’s upset, write the claim, submit it, and close the file.
The license gets you in the door
You can. The pre-licensing course alone is $179, and it will get you your Texas adjuster license. Nobody’s stopping you.
But here’s what Dave will tell you: the license gets you in the door. Xactimate and Practical Adjusting are what help you stay on the job on Day One.
The Practical Adjusting course fills in everything between “I have a license” and “I know how to work a claim.” How to schedule inspections, what to look for on the roof, how to communicate with the insured, how to set expectations, how to close.
$408 for all three. Or $179 for the license and figure out the rest on your first storm.

Who This Is For
Three kinds of students
- Starting From Scratch — No insurance background, no construction experience. You want to get licensed and be ready to work, not just pass a test.
- Changing Careers — Maybe you’re a roofer, a contractor, a veteran, a retiree. You have related skills but need the license, the software, and the process.
- Value-Minded — You want the full foundation without the full classroom price. Live training programs charge $2,000-$3,000+. This is $408.
Need construction knowledge too?
Add Basics of Construction for $71 more. If you’ve never worked in construction, this fills in how buildings are framed, roofed, plumbed, and wired. You’ll be estimating repair costs — understanding how things are built makes you better at estimating how they come apart.
